Georgia's 25 Book Reading Standard

One of the Reading Standards beginning in fourth grade and continuing through twelfth grade is that all students are expected to read the equivalent of 25 books, or one million words, annually as a part of their school assignments.

Throughout the grades reading assignments will include several areas and will include course textbooks, novels, articles, journals, etc. In the Intermediate School and Middle School Accelerated Reader (AR) is being used to encourage and track student's reading.

Research says that the more students practice their reading, the better reader they will become. Please encourage your child to read daily.
