The mission statement of the McIntosh County Nutrition Department is to be a partner in the educational process by providing high quality, nutritious meals that appeal to students and staff, and providing nutrition education learning opportunities that promote good health and the implementation of the local wellness policy.

Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)

The McIntosh County School Nutrition Program is fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in CEP for the third year.  The Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 includes the implementation of CEP to ensure that every student in low income neighborhoods can participate in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.  By Participating in CEP again this year, all students in grades PK-8 will automatically eat breakfast and lunch at no cost, without filling out a lunch application.  Special Provision II allows all students at McIntosh County Academy to eat breakfast at no cost.  Students at MCA will need to fill out an application to determine if they qualify for a free or reduced price meal.  Students who are directly certified have been notified that they will receive free lunch this school term.

McIntosh County No Charge Policy

The McIntosh County Board of Education School Nutrition Program has a NO CHARGE POLICY. The School Nutrition Program must receive payment for all meals prior to the child receiving the meal. We encourage all parents to insure that their child(ren)'s accounts have an adequate balance to prevent them from not receiving a meal. Please consider prepaying into your child(ren)'s account for the month or year.
